Description
Florissantia quilchenensis
Middle Eocene
Klondike Mountain Formation
Republic
Washington, USA.
The fossil displays fine botanical detail, including the graceful radiating structure of the flowering plant and associated pine like needles preserved in the same slab, offering a rare snapshot of an ancient Eocene forest floor. Specimens showing multiple plant types together are especially desirable because they provide a more complete picture of the prehistoric ecosystem.
