New stuff, new places to see it – August 2026

Believe it or not, we do try to make using this site as easy as we know how and to that end you’ll notice we’ve added new categories. There is now an “On Sale” section for weekly items we put on sale and the “Bargains” category for inexpensive fossils has been moved to it’s own page making it easier to search. Behind the scenes we’ve added a more comprehensive search function so you can search by species, SKU or even keywords and text.

Of course, the more fun part is all the new stuff we have added. There are over 500 new specimens representing everything from the Burgess Shale to dinosaurs that have come from collections made as far back as 1941. In particular, we have obtained the collection of the late paleobotanist Ruth Kirkby and her husband. Although her expertise was in fossil plants, she and her husband were prolific collectors for over 40 years! They were especially fond of insects and collected fossil insects from many places now impossible to collect. A part of their collection formed the original collection of the Jurupa Valley Discovery Center in Southern California.

Take some time to explore all the new specimens. There is something for every interest and every budget.
