Lepidophloios laricinus could grow into a tall tree-like plant with a straight trunk crowned by clusters of long, narrow leaves near the top. The trunk surface displayed distinctive diamond- or leaf-shaped leaf scars arranged in spiral patterns, a characteristic feature of many Carboniferous lycopsids.
