A rare fossil specimen of Argyropelecus cosmovicii, an extinct deep sea hatchetfish from the Oligocene. This delicate fish belonged to the family Sternoptychidae, a group of deep water fishes known today for their unusual body shape and ability to produce light through bioluminescent organs.
