Oldham County, TX USA.

Fish.

Fundulus is a genus of bony fish that dates back to the Early-Middle Miocene of Nevada but is perhaps best known from the Pliocene of that state (Truckee Formation).  The various species of this genus are locally called “killifish” or “topminnows.”  This specimen compares favorably to the modern Plains killifish, a fish native to several North American rivers (Mississippi, Colorado, Rio Grande, etc.) with tolerance for saltwater.
