Nicknamed the horned amphibian due to the characteristic projections on its skull, Eiceratosaurus is an uncommon member of the diverse vertebrate fauna preserved in the Linton Coal Mine deposits. These fossils provide valuable insight into the evolution of early amphibians during a time when vast tropical forests covered much of North America. Linton, the site where it was found is a world famous site for early tetrapods and was made famous by the iconic paleontologist Edward Cope.
Excellent 30mm skull of a “horned” amphibian on 57mm slab. Extremely rare.
