Nektaspida is an extinct group of soft-bodied arthropods that lived during the Cambrian and Ordovician periods. With smooth, segmented bodies and no hard exoskeleton, they glided along ancient seafloors or swam just above them. Some, like Naraoia, had large head shields and simple eyes. Though mysterious in form, nektaspids offer a fascinating look at early arthropod evolution—strange, sleek survivors from the dawn of complex life.
