Multituberculata were small, rodent-like mammals that lived from the Late Jurassic to the Eocene, surviving alongside dinosaurs for over 100 million years. Named for their teeth with many cusps (“tubercles”), they used their strong jaws to chew plants, seeds, and insects. Often considered the most successful early mammals, they filled ecological roles similar to modern rodents—tiny survivors in a world of giants.
