Description

Eunicites diopatroides
Worm
Middle Cretaceous (Cenomanian)
Hajoula, Lebanon

Very fine 66mm on 142mm slab.  Polychaete.

Polychaete worms (aka bristle worms) belong to the Class Polychaeta and date back to the Early Cambrian with representatives still living today.  Some modern forms like earthworms and leeches may be descendants of the group.

Eunicites, itself, has a long chronologic range dating back to the Ordovician and apparently dying out some time in the Late Cretaceous.
