Eoandromeda octobrachiata is an extinct, soft-bodied marine organism from the Ediacaran period, around 555 million years ago. It had a unique star-like shape with eight spiral arms, giving it a symmetrical, radial appearance. Fossils suggest it may have been related to early animals like echinoderms or ctenophores, but its exact classification is still debated. Eoandromeda likely lived on the seafloor and may have captured tiny particles from the water for food. Its unusual body plan provides insight into the diversity of early life before the Cambrian Explosion.
