Pteranodon is the most widely-recognized pterosaur of all time but its fragile bones are actually very rare finds in the Niobrara Chalk. They usually show signs of crushing because all their bones were either thin or thin and hollow like those of birds. After all this time, it’s a miracle to find just pieces of the delicate bones.
