Because of their fragility, flowers are rare in the fossil record. We try to pick up every one we can get. 
Here’s one from a time when tropical forest covered much of the Rocky Mountain region.

An excellent flower preserved with its stem – nice contrast against the matrix. The flower is also well-centered on the slab.
