Big 177mm frond on 194mm slab

Otozamites sp. is an extinct type of bennettitalean leaf from the Mesozoic era, especially common in the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. These leaves were long, narrow, and pinnate, resembling modern cycads or ferns, with stiff leaflets arranged along a central stem. Otozamites belonged to an ancient group of seed plants that may have been related to flowering plants. Fossils of Otozamites are beautifully preserved and offer a glimpse into the lush, prehistoric landscapes once roamed by dinosaurs—a leafy relic from Earth’s lost green worlds.
