Eoandromeda is an enigmatic Ediacaran organism that lived over 550 million years ago, before the rise of complex animals. It had a unique, star-shaped body with eight spiral arms arranged in a graceful, symmetrical pattern. Unlike anything alive today, Eoandromeda’s body plan hints at early experimentation in animal form—possibly related to ctenophores or echinoderms. Its delicate, alien-like structure makes it one of the most mysterious fossils from the Ediacaran seas—a beautiful and puzzling echo from life’s earliest chapters.
