Late Cretaceous

Ornithomimus was a fast, ostrich-like dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous, around 75 million years ago. With a long neck, toothless beak, and powerful legs, it was built for speed—possibly reaching up to 40–50 km/h (25–30 mph). Covered in feathers and likely possessing wing-like arms, Ornithomimus may have used them for display or thermoregulation. Its diet was probably omnivorous, feeding on plants, insects, and small animals. Agile, intelligent, and bird-like, Ornithomimus is a striking example of how dinosaurs were evolving toward modern birds.
