87mm fish on 200mm slab. Rare.

Amphicentrum was a small, deep-bodied fish that lived during the Pennsylvanian period, around 310 million years ago. With its tall, disc-like shape and fan-like fins, it likely swam slowly through ancient swamps and coal forests, possibly feeding on small invertebrates or plant material. Its fossils are often beautifully preserved in black shale, showing fine details of its scales and fin rays. Rare and distinctive, Amphicentrum offers a vivid glimpse into the diverse aquatic life of Earth’s Carboniferous coal-age ecosystems.
