Description
Starfish
Early Ordovician (Arenigian)
Upper Fezouata Formation
Zagora, Draa Valley
Morocco
The specimen preserves the characteristic radial body plan of a true starfish, making it an excellent example of early asteroid evolution. This is the first specimen of this particular type we have encountered, adding to its significance for collectors of unusual Ordovician echinoderms.
25mm starfish on 77mm slab. First of this type we have seen.
