The slab is dominated by numerous stylophorans, an extinct and highly unusual group of echinoderms characterized by an asymmetric body and a single articulated appendage (“aulacophore”). Each individual is preserved in varying orientations, creating a dense, visually complex field of repeated morphologies across the rock surface. Their calcitic plates and appendages are often clearly outlined, allowing the overall body architecture to be appreciated in detail.
Huge 21 inch x 18 inch slab with at least 29 stylophoran echinoderms and 2 starfish. Stunning display of early echinoderms
