Description
Theropod Tooth
late cretaceous (Turonian)
Bissekty Formation
Uchkuduk, Uzbekistan
Nicely preserved brown 25mm theropod tooth.
This theropod from Uzbekistan, dating to the Late Cretaceous (around 90 million years ago), was a fierce predator roaming the ancient floodplains of Central Asia. Its teeth are sharp, serrated, and slightly curved—perfect for slicing through flesh. Some belong to mid-sized carnivores, possibly related to early tyrannosauroids or carcharodontosaurs known from the region. These teeth are rare and valuable, offering a glimpse into a lesser-known ecosystem filled with unique dinosaurs. Each fossil tooth is a razor-sharp clue to a lost predator that once ruled the prehistoric landscapes of ancient Uzbekistan.
