Microraptor was a small, feathered dinosaur from the Early Cretaceous, about 120 million years ago, found in what is now China. About the size of a crow, it had wings on both its arms and legs, as well as a long, feathered tail—making it one of the only known dinosaurs with four wings. Microraptor likely glided or even flew between trees, hunting insects, small vertebrates, or fish. With its sleek feathers and aerodynamic body, Microraptor is a stunning example of the link between dinosaurs and birds—a tiny, flying predator from a lost world.
