42mm amphibian on 80mm matrix from the world famous Linton site. An extremely rare example of an early nectridean amphibian. The nectrideans include the famous Permian creature with the boomerang head Diplocaulus. The Linton site is famous for the rare preservation of whole skeletons of a variety of very early tetrapods. It was originally a coal mine which has long since been closed. Specimens now typically come only from old collections.
