Description

Nostoceras malagasyense (Collignon 1971)
Heteromorph
Late Cretaceous (Campanian)
Belo Tsiribihina, near Tulear, Madagascar

Two 97mm and 86mm heteromorphs on a single matrix block that stands 120mm high. Really gorgeous display specimen. Easily the best we have had.

Cephalopod. Ammonite. Multiple.

Nostoceras is a genus of heteromorph ammonite known from Late Cretaceous sites all over the world (California, Mexico. British Columbia, Angola, Madagascar, Japan, and New Zealand but it appears on the market only occasionally.  It is an especially in-demand ammonite due to that rarity.

It’s hard enough to find just one specimen but here’s a great matrix piece with two of them on it.
