Nautiloid. Cephalopod.

Beloitoceras is a genus of nautiloid known from the Ordovician of various parts of the world (North America, Europe, China, and Australia). It lived at a time when nautiloids were becoming the apex predators of the seas.

This one could represent Ordovician fossil or early cephalopods in a fossil display and it wouldn’t take up much space.

And yes, it was named in honor of Beloit, Wisconsin, one of the jewels of the Upper Midwest.
