Description
Gallimimus bullatus
Late Cretaceous
Nemegt Formation
Magnolia
A fossil manual claw from a Late Cretaceous theropod, often labeled in the trade as an “ornithomimid hand claw.” In many cases, such material is attributed broadly to ornithomimosaurian dinosaurs, a group of fast, lightly built, ostrich-mimic theropods, though isolated unguals can sometimes be difficult to assign with certainty to a precise genus.
Hand claw with associated phalanx. 3.25 inches total length
