This fascinating fossil, often called a “Palaeoniscoid worm,” likely represents a rare association between an early ray-finned fish and a worm-like organism from the Paleozoic era. The fish, resembling slender, armored palaeoniscoids, swam through ancient freshwater habitats, while soft-bodied worms wriggled along the sediment below.
