Typothorax is a genus of  the Order Aetosauria, a group of herbivorous pseudosuchian reptiles distantly related to modern crocodilians.  It was armored with scutes along its back, sides, and underbelly with spikes on its tail.  Its most common remains are isolated scutes but spikes, bones, and teeth are occasionally found.
