Description

Late Cretaceous

Osberger Gulch Sandstone Member, Hornbrook Formation

Ashland, Oregon, USA

Fine 1.5 inch on 3 inch slab

Other Mollusc,

Pterotrigonia is an extinct genus of bivalve that lived during the Late Cretaceous and died out at the end of the period.

In this specimen the shell has eroded away but it left a cool-looking impression in the rock.  It’s a nice display piece from a lesser-known locality.
