London Clay
Isle of Sheppy, Kent, England
Very unusual 53mm pyritized starfish.

Asteroid, Echinoderm.

Coulonia is a genus of starfish known from the Cretaceous to Eocene of Europe.

There are two known genera of starfish and one undetermined taxon in the London Clay.  They are generally found as pyrite casts of isolated arms or two connected partial arms.  This is one of the more complete specimens – quite a rare find and would be a jewel in a London Clay or starfish collection.
